Celtic left it late to beat Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon at Pittodrie – and Celtic fans want Lewis Ferguson signed after his goal against the Hoops.
Ferguson, 22, was excellent for Aberdeen once again – as the Dons came within an inch to getting a point against Ange Postecoglou’s side at home.
Incredibly, Scotland international Ferguson clocked up his 138th outing for the Dons – at just 22. He was excellent, but it was not enough.
Celtic took the lead. Kyogo Furuhashi scored on his return from injury, the 26-year-old netting his eighth goal in his 11th appearance of the season.
But the Hoops were pegged back in a game that saw Callum McGregor came up against Celtic legend Scott Brown in the middle of the park.
However, Ferguson was the pick of the midfielders – not only because he scored his fifth goal of the season. Outjumping Nir Bitton, he headed home.
What have Celtic fans said about Aberdeen star Ferguson?
A mix-up between Joe Hart and Adam Montgomery on the goalline saw the ball fly into the top corner – when both should have done more to stop it.
However, fellow new signing Jota scored the winner late on to finally get three points on the board for Celtic – a good win at a tough place to go.
Celtic have been linked with him in the past. Recently, his uncle – Rangers icon Barry Ferguson – says Lewis would have no problem joining Celtic.
Now, Celtic fans have reacted on Twitter to his performance against them on Sunday. Many believe he would improve their midfield.
